Furnishings

We thought we would add this tab to show some of the furniture, lights, bits and pieces we are going to put in our new home.

LIGHTS & HEATERS
This light is my (Leanne) favourite thing for our new house. I loved it ever since I first saw it in 2009. It is to go over our dining table, and is designed by Marcel Wanders called Skygarden. The light is 900mm in diameter and our dining table is 2600mm x 1200mm. We will have four low back chairs running up each side.  We saw a knock off at Matt Blatt and it looks cheap and nasty. The original is from Euroluce.

The pendant below will be going in the centre of our Master Bedroom. It is called Mayuhana Pendant from Yamagiwa Decorative, and is also stocked by Euroluce. The designer's name is Toyo Ito. It is made from fibreglass and resin and 500mm wide.

For the lounge room we are getting the Cocoon fireplace below it is from tongue+groove. The fireplace will go in our formal lounge and runs off ethanol (yey no flue). In summer you can pop ice in and use it as an esky.

LOUNGE ROOM
King Furniture had a 50% off sale in early February so who were we to resist. We popped on lay-by a lounge set. We got the Phoenix in a bright green fabric called tango lime, a 3 seater and a 2 seater couch. The 2 seater doesn't have arms do we can arrange it how ever we feel. The back and side cushions can be positioned high for sitting, low for reclining or in a line for a 'normal looking' couch.

DINING ROOM
Here is a dining room mood board we have created.

FAMILY ROOM
Here is the sofa we have ordered from Freedom to go in our family room. It is the Hilton with chaise in Esquire Pewter fabric.

Couch for Family Room

We also have an old occasional chair that was my mothers 40 years ago. We have had it recovered a couple of times, it has been red twice and green once, we think for this house it will be yellow (the chair is in storage at the moment so I will take a pic soon). Here is the fabric we are thinking of.

Fabric from Signature Prints

ALFRESCO
While we were at King Furniture we also picked up an outdoor setting for our alfresco. We loved the versatility it provided, we got 2x 2 seater couches which can be also rearranged to be daybeds, a table which can sit in-between the couches or independently and 2 small round tables (different sizes) as in the picture below. We didn't get the round chair or the umbrella.

MASTER BEDROOM
For our bedroom we picked an upholstered bed head from BedNest. We chose the Florence (style), extra tall (145cm) in Husk Driftwood (fabric). Isn't it beautiful ?!

BEDROOM 2
We got a lovely teak bedroom setting from Bayside Furniture in Geelong. Sixty percent of their wood is reclaimed or it is from plantations.

Our nephew stays with us quite often so this will be his room. We went to Freedom and let him choose a lamp. This is what he got.

Halo Table Lamp

He was very happy with the print we got for his room, it is from Tiny Bird. We got a frame which fits perfectly from Ikea, it has a mount inside which makes the picture 100 x 70 cm.

World Map Print 50 x 70

BEDROOM 3 (the baby's room)
For the baby's bedroom we have bought furniture from a Danish company called Leander. We got the cot which converts to a junior bed, a change table which converts to a desk, and a highchair which will convert to a desk chair. We also bought the cradle which will go in our room until the baby is about 6 months old. We have it all in Walnut which is shown in the chair. We will also get the Tatler 2 seater couch to go into the baby's room from Oz Design. We think it will be nice to have a place to sit for feeding and story time.

    1. Hi - the garage door we originally selected was the AGD Fineline Timber FX panel lift door in Walnut. What has been fitted is an Eco Door Walnut panel lift door. The brand is different, but the colour is basically the same.

  6. Hi again Rups...thank you for the reply. Just wondering, are you allowed to organizes your wardrobe from outside supplier or from PD?

    1. We have asked PD not to install the wardrobes. They are supplying the parts for us so we can put the shelving up in the garage.

Our wardrobes are going to be fitted by U-Nique Wardrobes and Storage Solutions http://u-niquestorage.com.au/ We have chosen the multi shelf system.

    1. Thanks! We found the painting one day when wandering through the Berkowitz Furniture store at South Wharf in Melbourne. I don't think the store is there anymore, but you may be able to get it from a different one. It was just under $1,000. Cheers!
